It is now illegal to smoke on bar and restaurant patios, playgrounds, and sports fields. The new Smoke Free Ontario laws kicked in on January 1st. The Porcupine Health Unit is doing their part to help keep Timmins smoke free. Matthew Budd, a Public Health Nurse, says quitting smoking can win you prizes with the health unit.

Don’t start and win is a contest specific for non-smokers.

Budd also says there are cost and health benefits to the new law.
