Municipal Election Day Tips

Election Day is here.

You will be making your decision on who will be the next mayor, council and school trustee for the next four years. Paper voting stations will be set up around the city from 10:00am to 8:00pm tonight.

You can find polling stations set up at:

  • Ward 1 – Renaissance Public School Gym, 301 Shirley Street, Timmins (Audio)
  • Ward 2 – Maurice Londry Community Centre, 73 Main St., South Porcupine
  • Ward 3 – District School Board Ontario North East, 153 Croatia Avenue, Schumacher
  • Ward 4 – Whitney Arena Hall, Hwy. 101 E., Porcupine (Audio)
  • Ward 5 – Timmins Centennial Public School, 545 Wilcox Street, Timmins – Polls 501
    Ecole Secondaire Theriault, 341 Theriault Blvd. – (Audio) – Polls 502
    Pinecrest Public School, 542 Toke Street, Timmins – Poll 503
    Timmins Museum (Gallery), 325 Second Avenue, Timmins – Poll 504

Some special polls will be set up for seniors at:

  • Spruce Hill Lodge, Lounge Poll, 200 Bruce Ave., S.Porc. – Poll 202(9:00 am-11:00 am)
  • Mary’s Gardeb, Common Room Poll, 225 Fifth Avenue – Poll 509 (1:00 pm-3:00 pm)
  • The Walford Retirement Home, Common Room Poll, 750 Tamarack Street – Poll 508 (4:00 pm-6:00 pm)
  • Extendacare Timmins, Common Room Poll, 62 St. Jean Avenue, – Poll 102 (9:00 am-11:30 am)
  • Golden Manor, Auditorium, 481 Melrose Blvd. – Poll 506 (12:00 noon-1:30 pm)
  • Georgian Residence, Main Entrance Poll, 455 Cedar St. No. – Poll 505 (2:30 pm-4:00 pm)
  • Connaught Community Centre, 6825 Frederick House Lake Road, Connaught (5:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.)

City Hall says you will need to bring your voting card and a piece of ID with you to vote. It adds that those who didn’t get a voting card should go to the Clerk’s Department.

Online polls will also close at 8:00pm tonight.
