On one hand FedNor minister Greg Rickford isn’t surprised that the federal NDP are taking shots at him over FedNor.

The NDP say Rickford put 11-million dollars from FedNor back in the treasury because it wasn’t spent.

Rickford says the comment is designed to divert attention away from what NDP leader Thomas Mulcair is saying about northern industries.

Rickford says Mulcair has called the forestry and mining industries a disease.

However Rickford is surprised that the NDP claim the FedNor budget had the support of Parliament when in fact he says they voted against it.

As for the 11-million dollars, Rickford says the removal was an accounting procedure and it will be spent.
