The Timmins Fire Department says as of noon today, you will be able to have backyard campfires within the city limits. Firefighters say you must have a fire permit and follow all the rules including: only burning clean wood in an approved fire pit and only between 7:00pm and midnight must be at least 10 feet away from any fence or building Fire permits are available at the Fire Hall for $25. If you have a camp fire without a permit, you can face a fine of up to $550. The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry has not yet confirmed if the regional open fire ban is lifted.
