Fire Ban Lifted

The Timmins fire ban has been lifted.

The Timmins Fire Department says as of noon today, you will be able to have backyard campfires within the city limits. Firefighters say you must have a fire permit and follow all the rules including:

  • only burning clean wood in an approved fire pit and only between 7:00pm and midnight
  • must be at least 10 feet away from any fence or building

Fire permits are available at the Fire Hall for $25. If you have a camp fire without a permit, you can face a fine of up to $550.

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry has not yet confirmed if the regional open fire ban is lifted.
