Election recount has been requested in Kirkland Lake

A request for a recount from the municipal election has been filed in Kirkland Lake. Both the mayor and one council seat had a slim margin. For mayor, the difference between the candidates was 57 votes, and for the final council seat it was only 21. Tony Antoniazzi was elected Mayor, with Ken McCann on his heels. A municipal clerk filed the recount request, and council will make that decision in tonight’s regular meeting.
