Timmins Man Charged with Assault After an Alleged Grocery Store Theft

A Timmins man is in hot water after an alleged grocery store theft.

The Timmins Police Service says on Tuesday, a man had allegedly taken some food from a grocery store without paying for it. Reports say when staff confronted the man, he allegedly pulled out a weapon and fled on foot.

TPS says officers found the 26-year-old man in the area and he is now facing eight charges including assault with a weapon, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm and theft under $5,000. He has been released and will appear in court on March 20th.
