There are only a few days until the Timmins Anti-Hunger Coalition’s first Coldest Night of the Year Walk.
The organization says there are almost 150 walkers registered already and the community has raised almost 80 per cent of its $30,000 fundraising goal. Executive Director Jennifer Vachon says she is excited that the route for the two, five and 10 kilometre walk is all ready to go.
Vachon says walkers will also go past the Friendship Centre, Project Love and Living Space. She says there are a couple of things you need to remember if you are participating this Saturday.
She says there is still time to register yourself or a team online, and you can also sign up the night of. Every walker will be getting a toque at the start of the walk, as well as a chili dinner when they are finished.
Registration for walk starts at 4:00pm with the walk getting underway at 5:15pm.
