The message of taking risks was one of the big takeaways from the Timmins State of the City Address.
Mayor Steve Black outlined what he thought his 10 biggest accomplishments were over his term which included Stars and Thunder, the proposed Aquatic Centre and the Cochrane District Social Services Administration Board funding formula change. Theses are all projects Black says has caused a lot of controversial discussions throughout the city. Black says if you don’t take risks, you won’t make progress.
He adds that the city has a lot going on heading into 2018.
Black says he believes council is committed to advancing the projects proposed to move the city forward until the upcoming municipal election happens. The next election is slated to take place in October 2018.
