The NDP leadership race is now over.
Ontario MPP Jagmeet Singh has been named the new party leader taking 53.8 per cent of the vote, which equals 35,266 ballots. Timmins-James Bay MP Charlie Angus came in second with 12,705 votes. Angus says he is disappointed he didn’t win, but is very happy with the way his team ran the race.
He says he is very thankful for all the support showed within the riding.
Angus wants to tackle job fairness issues and building our region in this year’s session.
