News Cochrane Opens Doors for Kashechewan Evacuees SHARE ON: Mackenzie Read, contributor, Thursday, Apr. 20th, 2017 About 200 Kashechewan evacuees are heading to Cochrane. The town says the stage one evacuees including, women, children, and the needy, will be moving to places like the Friendship Centre, Red Cross, and Child and Family Services. Mayor Peter Politis says they are happy to help fellow Northerners in need. The evacuation is expected to last upwards of two weeks.
