To celebrate Earth Day, Timmins Transit will offer free bus rides. On Saturday, all conventional transit will be free to help promote a better carbon footprint. The City of Timmins says taking the bus rather than driving can keep about 168 tonnes of pollutants out of the atmosphere each year. The city says public transit greatly benefits the environment and enhances the quality of life for all Canadians.
