Police Remind Commercial Truck Drivers to Use Their Designated Route

The Timmins Police Service is reminding commercial truck drivers to stick to their designated route. This after police received multiple complaints of commercial trucks using streets in South Porcupine that are not part of that route. Communications Coordinator Marc Depatie says the tractor trailers have been going down residential streets and through school zones. He says this is in contrary to the safety intent of the truck route system. Depatie adds the established route is Highway 101 to the Bruce Y, then Golden Avenue. He says police would much rather educate than prosecute commercial drivers not following the by-laws.
