The Timmins Fire Department has some winter tips when it comes to service meters and outdoor appliance vents.  The advice is keep them free of snow and ice.  If the devices get blocked by snow or ice, there’s the risk of carbon monoxide building up in your home.  The department says don’t use sharp objects to remove the snow or ice and don’t pile snow on your appliance vents.
