Wallingford erosion study to cost $57K

The cost to do an erosion study on Wallingford Road in Timmins is coming in at around $57,000. The city is going to take on the cost of that study, after it was brought up that the shoreline of the river is eroding and the homes are being flooded.

City Engineer Luc Duval says only one bid for the work came in, which will look at a number of different issues, including the drainage patterns, the issues with drainage, slope stability, and slope failures.

Once that study is done, the city will look at what needs to be fixed to ensure the homes are safe, and who is responsible for the cost.
