Hempfest begins in Moonbeam today

Northern Ontario’s pro-marijuana festival is kicking off today in Moonbeam. The 18th annual event is running all week long, with the concerts starting on Thursday. The festival is open the public, however those 18-years-old and under will need to be with a guardian.

Organizer and head of Hempfest, Robert Neron says they have never had any problems at the event, with no calls to police or EMS in the 18 years it’s been running. He says even though Hempfest is a pro-marijuana festival, non-smokers are still welcome to come out and take part in the activities.

Neron also notes they will not be selling marijuana at the festival. Tickets are $20 for a day pass or $40 for the week. The full schedule of events for the week is online at www.hempfestcanada.ca.
