Uncategorized Proposed shopping centre poses safety risk SHARE ON: Paige Parker, contributor, Tuesday, Apr. 8th, 2014 The proposed shopping centre at 54 emerald has sparked questions of safety. Residents from Emerald Street spoke at city council last night to raise their concerns which revolved around the safety of children in the neighbourhood and privacy. One resident who lives directly across the street from 54 says he’s worried about light spilling into his living room at night so he wants a letter of commitment that the developers will do what they promised and make sure trees are planted. Another resident who also lives across the street has three children and is concerned about the traffic that will be flooding the area. It was suggested the entrance be up the street more in the same place the Kal Tire entrance is located.
