Timmins-James Bay MP Charlie Angus is happy with recent work by the Junior Rangers. Angus says he was up in Attawapiskat recently, when he saw a number of youth leaders wearing the sweatshirt and insignia of the Rangers. He says the group plays an extraordinary role in leadership, training, and public safety across the north. He says he was thrilled to see the cadet version of the Rangers on the ground working with young people in the remote First Nation community.
Angus says the cadet program offers opportunities for kids with working class backgrounds to travel, develop skills, and become leaders. It is part of a bigger cadet system across the north. That includes the Major McCarthy air cadets in Iroquois Falls, and the Navy League in Timmins.
