Chinese rail experts are expected to make a decision soon on the feasibility of building a rail line to the Ring of Fire. Several engineers from a China-based rail company have now seen the chromite site first hand to assess what they’re up against.
The challenge is building infrastructure in swampy land. KWG, which owns claims at the Ring of Fire, hired the firm to study and possibly build the two billion dollar line. If it does, the company will likely become a partner with KWG when it starts mining chromite, nickel, platinum and copper at the site.
