OPP find $200K in unmarked cigarettes during a RIDE stop on Highway 11

The Temagami OPP is charging a Winnipeg man after finding $200,000 dollars worth of illegal cigarettes. Officers made the bust while doing RIDE checks on Highway 11 last week. They found almost 535,000 unmarked cigarettes. The 58-year-old is now looking at two charges of possessing unmarked cigarettes under the Tobacco Tax Act. He has a court date this summer to answer to the charges.

Under the Tobacco Tax Act, it is illegal to buy or sell untaxed or unregulated cigarettes.
