Ontario Geological Survey hits a major milestone

It’s a milestone for the Ontario Geological Survey, as the agency is now 125 years old.

The survey maps mineral deposits in Ontario which in some cases lead to major mines being developed, especially in the north. Mines minister Michael Gravelle says the group has played a vital role in Ontario’s mining sector since first starting out as the Ontario Bureau of Mines in 1891.
