Tuesday begins the latest round of “Tales and Tails of Joy” at the C.M. Shields Library in South Porcupine.Â
Branch head Louise Gaudette says it’s in conjunction with the St. John’s Ambulance therapy dog program. It provides a low pressure environment in which kids can try out their reading skills to a small, very receptive audience.Â
“The kids come in and they are situated on a blanket,” she explains. “Then they sit with their handler and the child-tested, certified dog and they sit and read.”Â
Story time lasts anywhere between ten minutes and half an hour.Â
Registration is required.Â
“It is on our website, but you’re always more than weelcome to give us a call if you want to register as well and we’ll just walk you through it. It’s super easy, chill and a great evening of literature and dogs and love.”Â
“Tales and Tails of Joy” is held on three consecutive Tuesday nights at the South Porcupine branch and Thursdays at the Timmins branch.Â
There’s much more in our interview posted below.Â
