Timmins Symphony’s annual Halloween concert is actually on Halloween night

Halloween in Timmins wouldn’t be the same without the Timmins Symphony Orchestra featuring Halloween music at a concert.

Even the calendar is cooperating this year. The concert is at Thériault at 8:00pm Halloween night – next Saturday.

Concertmaster and first violinist Angela Garwood-Touw says the program is a good mix of favourite Halloween songs in the classical genre.

“Danse Macabre is a really fun one. I like it because it has a concertmaster’s solo that’s really fun that I get to play,” she mentions. “We’re also playing music from movies and TV shows, we have some pop music.”

There’s local content, too.  Students of the summer music camp wrote Halloween tunes, some of which will be performed.

The eight o’clock start time lets you bring your kids after they’re done trick or treating.

“Maybe some of those kids that are still wide awake after eating too much sugar,” Garwood-Touw laughs, “maybe come and enjoy some of the concert before going to bed.”

Tickets are available at www.timminssymphony.com .
