Afternoon collisions snarl Timmins traffic

UPDATE TUESDAY MORNING

There were no kids on the school bus involved in a collision just before four o’clock yesterday afternoon… at Algonquin Boulevard at Highway 655. Timmins Police say the other vehicle was an SUV.

Traffic was tied up right through downtown until after seven o’clock.

And an e-bike collided with a tuck a couple hours later at Moneta Avenue and Pine Street.

Minor, non-life-threatening injuries are reported.

Getting around downtown Timmins late Tuesday afternoon was a major challenge because of at least two collisions.
First, shortly after 4:00pm, a car collided with a small school bus at the intersection of Algonquin Blvd. and Hwy. 655.
That backed up traffic right through the downtown core.
No word yet on injuries or a cause.
Less than two hours later, a vehicle collided with a bicycle in the intersection of Moneta  Ave. and Pine St.
We’ll have more details as they’re made available by the Timmins Police Service.
