A provincial champion ringette team from Timmins needs financial help from the community so it can participate in the Eastern Canadian championships next month in Mississauga.
The Timmins Tornadoes U16 team won the Ontario title this past weekend in Kitchener.
Head coach Neil Bangs says they’re getting a cost breakdown from Ringette Ontario.
“There’s the jerseys for the girls, there’s apparel that they have to pay for, there’s banquets, travel, accommodations, registration,” he says.
“Right now we have kind of an initial budget of about $20,000 to try to kind of offset. Anything that could help out would be greatly appreciated from our end.”
