Short movie to be filmed in Cochrane this May

A Cochrane resident is looking at filming a short movie in the community this May. Timothy Hazin has created

The Oddsmakers, a 17 minute film that will also become a comic book. The movie is about a man’s one day journey and difficult decisions he has to make. Hazin made a presentation to town council earlier this week to garner support and to discuss his project. He says Cochrane makes a perfect backdrop.

“I mean it’s more of a question of I can’t believe people aren’t flocking up here making films. It’s the landscapes, it’s the sceneries, the multitude of seasons. It’s just a perfect place. It’s been so inspiring to live up here.”

A number of locations will be used in the production including the Railway Café, Best Western, and the Cochrane Airport. The comic book is expected to be ready by February.
