Health Unit offering several reminders when booking vaccine appointments

As more COVID-19 vaccination clinics are announced in our region, the Porcupine Health Unit has a reminder regarding the appointment that you booked. RN Program Manager Kendra Brunet says cancelling your shot is more important than not showing up at all.

“It`s very important that any appointments that cannot be attended be cancelled,” she said. “To make sure that we can open up an opportunity to somebody else who is able to be there.”

Brunet says there are some other important things to keep in mind when booking your needle.

“So whether you would be a healthcare worker or if you were booking into an age clinics that are currently open,” She said. “You may also identify as an essential worker when the time comes.”

To see what appointment times are available in your community, please visit the Health Unit`s website.
