This year’s city-organized Canada Day celebration in Timmins will be one of the biggest ever, if not the biggest.
For all the details, listen to our interview with director of cultural services Karen Bachmann, which is posted at the end of this story.
Bachmann says a day full of fun and food is set for Hollinger Park beginning at noon. She says there will be inflatables and games for kids of all ages; 20 various vendors and seven food trucks.
“We have five bands that are going to be providing us with wonderful music throughout the day,” she notes, “culminating in our headliner, which is Rosewood Ave., who will be performing around 6:00pm.”
Then the fun and music move over to Gillies Lake.
“We are also going to be just inviting people to stake out their areas and enjoy the lovely breezes, because it’s going to be a fabulously wonderful day, and we will wait for our fireworks, which are probably doing to go off once the sun sets around 9:30, quarter to ten.”
