You might get a little more bang and boom in this year’s Canada Day celebrations in Timmins.
Council approved a $100,000 budget to cover the cost including the return of fireworks. Committee lead Karen Bachman says there won’t be any drones for this summer, noting that people missed the spectacle of the fireworks. An ideal launch location is be researched.
She adds that council has asked the group to hold the event in Hollinger Park that has plenty of room for live entertainment, artists and activities.
Applications to get involved in Canada Day activities will be available Monday on the city’s website.
