The deadline for non-profit groups to register for Welcome to Timmins Night has been extended to this Friday.
Ifeoma Kasimanwuna, the local immigration partnership coordinator, says it’s on Wednesday, September 6th from six until eight at the McIntyre Curling Club.
The last two years, it’s been outdoors on Third Avenue.
“But this time” she says, “we just figured it was time to go back. We have a lot more room to take in more exhibitors and we are not at the mercy of the weather, so it’s safer for us.”
Kasimanwuna states that more than 100 exhibitors will be on hand, offering information about services and activities in Timmins. She says it ranges from religion to culture, health and education.
“Even organizations looking for volunteers. It cuts across every walk of life. As long as you offer services and you’re not for profit in Timmins, you’re welcome to come register.”
