The Timmins branch of National Bank is closed Thursday afternoon and all day Friday, opening Monday in a trailer across Balsam St., in the municipal parking lot.
Manager Nicole Turgeon says it allows for four months of renovations to the branch, including technological upgrades.
She says it will have as little impact as possible on staff and clients.
“The trailer is actually equipped with an ATM machine,” she notes. “It’s also equipped with a counter for a teller counter and it also has a meeting room.
Technology will be used to deal with business clients in online video meetings
The ATM will only be available during bank hours, but Turgeon says clients can use any bank machine on The Exchange Network, with no service charge. Find out where by clicking on this link: https://www.theexchangenetwork.ca/Participating-Financial-Institutions.aspx
She calls the upgrade to the branch a good investment in the community.
“With everything going on with the mines, and we’ve all heard about the progress, I think this is a huge investment, and it just kind of accompanies everything that’s going on in Timmins and supports it.”
Turgeon hopes to move into the branch at the end of November.
