A packed house roared into the McIntyre Arena Thursday night for the annual Timmins Chamber of Commerce Nova Business Awards. The theme was “The Winning Formula”, built around a car racing theme.
And it was one of the city’s car dealers that took home the most prestigious of the 15 awards. The President’s Award Timmins Garage for excellence over almost 100 years, through four generations of the Mascioli family.
Accepting the award, dealer principal Jim Mascioli says he, his family and staff don’t do it for accolades.
“Timmins is a great place to live. We’ve got issues, we’ve got to fix them,” he said. “Congratulations to everybody here tonight. The business community in Timmins are the greatest people in the country.”
At 750 people in attendance every year, the Nova gala is the biggest business awards presentation north of Toronto.
