Le Centre Culturel LaRonde is ready to go with Carnaval 2023,celebrating winter the Franco-Ontarian way from February 18th to 25th.
Executive director Lisa Bertrand says it begins with the annual ball hockey tournament. Teams are still being accepted for the four-on-four, mixed event, outside Full Beard Brewing.
“Two men, two women, then a goalie,” she explains. “So you’re in charge of bringing your own goalie equipment. So that will be during the day, Saturday the 18th. There will be a road closure right in front of Full Beard.”
There will be live music at Full Beard that night.
The annual carnival related mystery is back: Who is that… masquerading as Bonhomme Carnaval?.
Bertrand says it’s one of three people, beginning with yoga instructor Sylvie Lamothe.
“Also, we gave Ernest Plante, who is our president of the board of directors of Le Centre Culturel LaRonde. And then we also have Pierre Vien, who is a volunteer of Le Centre Culturel LaRonde.”
Bonhomme will make an appearance at carnival events between the 18th and 25th, and then his real identity will be revealed at the end of Carnaval.
The complete schedule is on the Centre Culturel La Ronde website.
