Car group more than Wed. ‘Cars & Coffee’

It doesn’t matter if it’s old, new, high performance or a nice family car.  All you need to become involved with the Timmins Tuners Car Club is a love of automobiles.

The ever-growing membership gets together every Wednesday 7:00pm for what president Teejay McDonell calls “Cars and Coffee” at Giant Tiger on Riverside Dr.

“We might be looking this year into another location and we’ve had a local company reach out to us and want to host us and they have a much bigger parking lot for us,” he says, adding that the burgeoning membership is a good problem to have.

The Tuners have their annual general meeting on Saturday, to set the course for activities in the year ahead.

McDonell says in the past three years, the group has raised $46,000 dollars for charities in the region between Timmins and Kapuskasing, and for families who’ve had tragedy intrude into their lives.

“We do what we can when we can,” he remarks. “If anybody needs help and we can provide it, we’ll be there for sure, 100%.”
