Rock on the River is back at Hollinger Park

The Friday night line up for this year’s Rock on the River festival is receiving a lot of positive response. Timmins Festival and Events Committee chairman John Olaveson announced it this past Saturday during TFEC’s Beerfest.

“It’s an all Canadian line-up: Our Lady Peace, Tea Party, Econoline Crush and from North Bay, High Holy Days,” he says. “It’s going to be at the Hollinger Park and the city’s going to revitalize that area where we had the festival last October and they’re going to remove all the black earth, put a granular base.” So no mud bowl this time.

Rock on the River is July 22nd and 23rd. Ticket sales will open when the Saturday line-up is announced.

Olaveson says the music festival outgrew Participark, and the Hollinger has better infrastructure, such as power pedestals.

“There’s four or five pedestals around the park, so it’s easier to access power – more power for our vendors, for a bigger stage and stuff like that, right?”

Olaveson notes that the Hollinger has permanent fencing.  It had to be put up and taken down at Participark.
