Any driver who stays right at the Bruce Y in South Porcupine will like the sound of this: the bridge over Porcupine Creek is going to be replaced.
City council has approved design and contract administration for the project, as well as for a replacement culvert on Moose Creek, in the rural east end.
That will all cost $279,000.00. It was  budgeted at $450,000.00, so public works director Pat Séguin says the balance will be used for paving streets around the city.
Following various studies and approvals, bridge construction is expected in 2023.
NOTE: An earlier version of this story said the Bruce Ave. bridge crosses Moose Creek. We apologize for the confusion.
