A new building to replace the Golden Manor Home for the Aged has taken another step towards reality.
The City of Timmins owns the 177-bed facility. At Tuesday’s meeting, council approved the hiring of an architect – the same one who designed Extendicare Timmins.
The architectural design services come with a price tag of almost two-point-three-million dollars.
The plan is to add 15 more beds and build the new Manor on the vacant land in front of the existing one, at Thériault Boulevard and Jubilee Avenue.
