Timmins Library main branch open again

Here’s one for the books: The main branch of the Timmins Public Library has reopened after being closed for six months by a certain virus.

CEO Carole-Ann Churcher says, however, the branch in South Porcupine is still closed.

“For the moment, C.M. Shields is still doing curbside and phone and email service.  But we will be reopening that branch soon as well.”

At the main branch on Spruce Street, there are health and safety protocols in place. And the hours are only Monday to Thursday, 1:00 to 6:00pm and Friday from 1:00pm to 5:00pm.  All the details are on the library’s website and Facebook page.

“Some services are not available,” Churcher adds. “For example, meeting room and study room bookings or in-person programming are not available at this time.”

If you’re still hesitant about going inside, curbside book pick-up is still available at the main branch.

All the re-opening details are on the library’s website and Facebook page.
