A shoplifting incident last Wednesday night in Timmins elevated to a robbery rather quickly. City police are looking for the robber.
Communications coordinator Marc Depatie says the man walked into an Algonquin Boulevard pharmacyand scooped up $560.00 worth of fragrances.
“When confronted by loss prevention officers and other staff members,” Depatie reports, “the male proceeded to engage in assaultive behaviour towards those persons.”
By legal definition, that’s when it turned in to a robbery.
“Whenever there’s an element of violence either real or threatened, then that becomes a robbery,” Depatie explains.
“Suspect made off with five gift sets of perfume, retail value is $560.00 So anyone with any relevant information as to the identity of this person or his current whereabouts is kindly asked to call the Timmins Police Service.”
You can also do it anonymously through Crime Stoppers, and possibly earn a cash reward.
