Provincial energy, northern development and mines minister Greg Rickford came to Timmins on Monday, bearing gifts.
He handed out Northern Ontario Heritage Fund cheques worth more than $700,000 to three companies.
The Bucket Shop got almost $600,000 to expand its facilities. 360 Boring Services got $96,000 and the Fibre Fusion division of Con’s Electric $13,000  to expand into fibre-optic cable splicing and other services.
