An event a month ready to go in city parks

The launch date is set for events in parks across the city,on the third Saturday of every month.

Next Saturday, December 21st, the Timmins Community Park Association is starting it off with a full afternoon at Hollinger Park.

President Mark Rogers says Santa arrives complete with police escort at 1:45pm.  You can have your photo taken with the jolly old elf between 2:00pm and 4:00pm and it will be emailed to you.

There’s also taffy making, a bonfire, and participants are asked to bring homemade ornaments for the Christmas trees that will be on site.

Rogers says the only thing missing is the new skateway through the park.

“City crews are currently working on the skate path at the Hollinger, but we are told it will not be ready for our December 21st event,” he says.

Rogers says everything is free of charge, except the taffy at $3.00.

“That is the only cost item there.  Pictures with Santa are free, there’ll be free hot chocolate, free coffee.”

Full details on the event are on the Timmins Community Park Association’s Facebook page.
