Timmins-James Bay MP Charlie Angus is demanding answers from CN. He says all you have to do is look at the 2010 spill in Michigan into the Kalamazoo River. It’s been five years, it still isn’t clean and it’s costing over $1 billion.
He says if the Mattagami has been damaged, he wants to know what that damage is and what they’re going to do to fix it.
Angus says he wants to know if the same impact will be made on the Mattagami River. He is raising concerns over the water itself, the fish spawning grounds and the people who depend on it.
