A big celebration is planned for September 29th, when the Lord’s Kitchen marks its milestone 35th anniversary.
Board member Aurele Monfils says the big event is a fundraising dinner at $50 a person.
“And we’re going to have European cuisine,” he outlines. “So everything is kind of homemade handmade. We’ve got all our cooks in place. Even the lasagna, the noodles will be made from scratch.”
Croatian and French food will also be served. Each table will have wine – bottle of white, bottle of red – and there will be door prizes along with music by Paul Sebalj.
The Lord’s Kitchen serves supper to the needy every Thursday… and recently added Friday breakfast.
Monfils says that adds up to a lot of food over three-and-a-half decades.
“Over 35 years, there’s been well over a million plates of food that have been served to patron’s who’ve come in.”
