The results are in and the awards have been given for this year’s Santa Claus Parade.
The Timmins BIA says the city was the scene of another wonderful and successful parade, one that had incredible diversity within its entries, including live animals, high schools, corporate entries, service clubs, cadet groups, sports teams and non-profit organizations.
Judges say they were impressed with this year’s creativity.
There were 13 awards to be handed out:

- Best Walking Group: Northern Diamonds Academy of Dance
- Best Small Entry: Viau Plumbing
- Best Large Entry: Ontario Power Generation
- Best Marching Group: Cadets Canada
- Most Spirited: Ecole Secondaire Catholique Theriault
- Brightest: Charlie Angus & Gilles Bisson
- Best Animated: Neo Laser Tag
- Most Comical: Boston Pizza
- Most Original: Kataquapit Family
- Most Artistic: Melissa Kelly Dance Academy & BMT Insurance & Financial Services
- Best Animal Entry: Clovercroft Farm
- Judges Choice: 360 Services Inc
The BIA wanted to thank the over 1000 volunteers and parade participants as well as over 15,000 spectators who enjoyed it.
The theme for next year’s parade will be announced at the plaque presentation before council at a later date.
