Applications are coming up for Sports for Kids funding.
The organization helps low-income families afford to put their kids in a variety of spots in Timmins throughout the year. Starting November 13th, applications for the 2019 sports year will open. Deadlines for applications will take place on:
- January sports: December 10th
- Sports in April: March 10th
- Summer and winter sports: June 10th
- Close applications on September 22nd
The organization says anyone who applied for funding this year must reapply for 2019. You must apply a minimum of 2 weeks before registration of the sport. Sports for Kids Timmins says you will need a Notice of Assessment, income tax summary, for 2017 until March 10th then 2018 after that date, pay stubs or social assistance stubs for all adults supporting the child and a completed 2019 application. Application forms are available online or at the Kidspot office at the Sportsplex. The office 9:30am and 1:30pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
In 2018, Sports for Kids Timmins helped 185 kids fund 255 sports or equipment opportunities, equalling $59,000.
