Festa Italiana will be Loud Fun and Full of Food

Food and fun is the theme for this Sunday.

The Porcupine Dante Club is holding its second annual Festa Italiana street party. The Dante Club says rain or shine, Cedar Street will be closed between First Avenue and the Fire Hall from noon until 8:00pm for Italian family fun. Dante Club Director Chris Loreto says admission if free, but there will be tons of fresh food for sale.

Loreto says the cooks are already preparing food for the event. He says there will be sausages, meatball sandwiches, porketta, lamb skewers and hot dogs for sale. He says there will also be pre-made food like lasagna available for you to buy and take home.

There will be a fresh dinner served at 6:00pm. There are a limited amount of tickets for the event which will feature two types of pasta, porketta and more. Tickets are $15 for adults and $7 for children ages five to 10.

Loreto says there will be free inflatables, laser tag and rock climbing walls for the kids. He says while all the games are free, they will also be collecting donations for Living Space. Loreto says there will be performances throughout the day including the Dante Club Choir, a couple of groups of Dante Club dancers and the Timmins Big Band.

Loreto says last year about one thousand people came to the party so he is hoping for a similar, if not bigger turn out.
