Even with water restrictions in affect, the city’s splash pads are still open.
The City of Timmins started implementing the water restrictions last week, which limit the amount of water you can use to water your grass. Under the restrictions odd numbered houses can water on odd numbered days and even numbered houses on even days.
City Hall says the splash pads can still be used because according to the bylaw, sprinklers and pools can be used at anytime as long as kids are playing in them. The city says since the splash pads are being used by kids to play in and cool off, they will stay running throughout the restriction.
The city says the restrictions are in affect until the end of August.
