This year’s Ride for Memories was one of the biggest yet.
The Alzheimer’s Society of Timmins and Porcupine gathered a group of motorcyclists on Saturday to ride to all the long-term care and retirement homes in the area and visit some of the residents. Director of Operations Tracy Koskamp-Bergeron says this year the ride had 29 bikes, which is the most they have ever had.
Koskamp-Bergeron says it’s great to see all the bikers interacting and visiting with the people living in these homes.
She says this year’s ride also raised about $7,000 in donations and registration fees.
Koskamp-Bergeron says these funds will to go towards running the organization’s free services including patient and family supports, education programs and caregiver information.
