Students and staff at Timmins High and Vocational School are teaming up to help one of their own.
Principal Greg Vincze says they will be running a fundraising car wash on Saturday to support a grade 9 student. Vincze says Braedyn Johnstone has been diagnosed with a cancerous tumour in his brain, called rhabdomyosarcoma, which has also spread to his throat.
He says there are a few things planned for students to collect donations.
Saturday’s fundraiser will run from 10:00am to 3:00pm at the back of the school.
There is also a gofundme page set up to support Johnstone and his family.
