Timmins is the third most dangerous city in Ontario according to MacLean’s Magazine.
The most recent “Canada’s Most Dangerous Places” chart ranks Timmins just below Temiskaming Shores and Brantford. Among the 229 cities ranked in the country, Temiskaming Shores falls at 25, Brantford at 53 and the city with the heart of gold at 56.
Cities are ranked by a Crime Severity Index and Violent Crime Severity Index. This is a Statistics Canada number of all police-reported crime collected through the Uniform Crime Reporting Survey. Timmins CSI is ranked at 92 compared to the national average of 70.96. The city’s VCSI is at 129 compared to Canada’s average of 75.25
