A Northern Ontario lobby group is pushing the federal government to remember the area when creating its national housing strategy. The Northern Service Deliverers Association says that strategy has to be for all Canadians, including Northerners. The group has outlined a number of recommendations for the feds to make that happen, with a 10-point plan.
Some of the recommendations include funding for new housing units, more flexibility for affordable housing, and to recognize the higher cost of building in northern and rural areas.
